#52Ancestors: The Many Husbands of My 2nd Great Grandmother Catherine Darnley

I did not even know the name of my second great grandmother until March 2012, when I discovered the marriage record for her daughter. My second great grandmother Catherine Darnley appears to have had at least a complicated history of marriages.

People Referenced: Darnley, Catherine (1878-1926), Darnley, James Patterson (1856-1908), Kennedy, Joseph (b. 1876), Kennedy, Sarah (d. 1930), Lloyd, Sarah Ann (b. 1859), Quinn, Andrew (b. 1906)

#52Ancestors: My Long Lost Great Grandmother Sarah Kennedy, Possibly A Bigamist

If and when my great grandmother Sarah Kennedy divorced her first husband before marrying my great grandfather is not clear. She was already pregnant with my grand uncle when she married my great grandfather. And I have not been able to determine which husband is the father of her third son.

People Referenced: Darnley, Catherine (1878-1926), Kennedy, Joseph (b. 1876), Kennedy, Sarah (d. 1930), Ward, Frank (b. 1895)
Applicable Surnames: Bodman, Darnley, Kennedy, Ward

#52Ancestors: Discovering The Name Of My 2nd Great Grandfather, Joseph Kennedy!

My Joseph Kennedy is the father of Sarah Kennedy (?-1930), of whom I know very little because she (and her husband) died and orphaned my grandfather Michael John Flanagan (1927-1997) when a toddler. Grandpa knew nothing about his grandfather, other than that he thought his last name was Kennedy.

People Referenced: Kennedy, Joseph (b. 1876), Kennedy, Sarah (d. 1930)
Applicable Surnames: Kennedy
